in 1891. It was named by George Bennett because it reminded him very much of Bandon in County Cork, Ireland. There are many restaurants, beachfront hotels, shops, beaches and a lighthouse.Bandon Dunes Golf resort, just north of town, is one of the top golf destination resorts in the county. July, August and September are the warmest months, but don't let that foold you. The best time to avoid summer's gusty winds and get some sun is September.
