Road Runs
Upcoming Road Races on the South Coast
For more information on upcoming road races and for photos from past events, those interested can log on to the South Coast Running Club’s Web page at www.southcoastrunningclub.com.
Mac’s Run — Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 10 a.m. at Sunset Bay State Park near Charleston. Events include a 10-kilometer run and 5-kilometer run/walk. Both races travel through the parking lot at Shore Acres State Park, while the longer route also goes through Cape Arago State Park. Both events offer ocean views and provide a fast downhill finish. The entry fee is $32 with a quarter-zippered sweatshirt for preregistered runners (by Nov. 22) only, or $7 without a shirt. The raceday entry fee with sweatshirt is $38 for all entrants. Raceday registration runs from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Sunset Bay Picnic Area parking lot. For more information, call Rex Miller at 269-1199.
Bullards Run — Sunday, Jan. 10, starting at 2 p.m. in the campground at Bullards Beach State Park. Events include a 10-kilometer run and a 5-kilometer run/walk. The longer race takes runners out to the historic Coquille River Lighthouse. Registration takes place from 1:15 to 2 p.m. on race day. The entry fee is $2 plus a used, but not worn-out, T-shirt from another run for a shirt exchange. Participants will be allowed to choose a shirt in the exchange. Road Runs
Upcoming Road Races on the South Coast
For more information on upcoming road races and for photos from past events, those interested can log on to the South Coast Running Club’s Web page at www.southcoastrunningclub.com.
Mac’s Run — Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 10 a.m. at Sunset Bay State Park near Charleston. Events include a 10-kilometer run and 5-kilometer run/walk. Both races travel through the parking lot at Shore Acres State Park, while the longer route also goes through Cape Arago State Park. Both events offer ocean views and provide a fast downhill finish. The entry fee is $32 with a quarter-zippered sweatshirt for preregistered runners (by Nov. 22) only, or $7 without a shirt. The raceday entry fee with sweatshirt is $38 for all entrants. Raceday registration runs from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Sunset Bay Picnic Area parking lot. For more information, call Rex Miller at 269-1199.
Bullards Run — Sunday, Jan. 10, starting at 2 p.m. in the campground at Bullards Beach State Park. Events include a 10-kilometer run and a 5-kilometer run/walk. The longer race takes runners out to the historic Coquille River Lighthouse. Registration takes place from 1:15 to 2 p.m. on race day. The entry fee is $2 plus a used, but not worn-out, T-shirt from another run for a shirt exchange. Participants will be allowed to choose a shirt in the exchange. Leftover shirts will be donated to charity. For more information, call Tom Bedell at 347-4740 or David Ledig at 347-3491.
