Heavy rains Monday and Tuesday forced the city of Myrtle Point to bypass untreated wastewater into the Coquille River at river mile 34, a press release said.

The city notified the Oregon Emergency Management System and Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and has posted warning signs for people along that section of the river.

Oh yes, once again a local city agency drops a duce in the river.

What is the deal? Are they filling the storage tank until we get a reasonable amount of rain to dump in the river?

Why bother storing it at all? Why not just go back to open gutters with raw sewage flowing down the street?

I love Coos County, it reminds me of home. My native third world country dumps all its sewage into the rivers too. We dump our trash on the side of the road just like it is done here in Coos County. We have empty boarded up buildings that are sinking & falling down just like here in Coos County. We have cars that pour smoke out the tailpipe just like here in Coos County.

Do you think you can start putting up secondary street signs & signs in the grocery store in Spanish? I think that is about all we are missing. You have the corruption just like home too.
