Earlier this month a Coos County Circuit Court judge told convicted horse abuser Bobbye Cikanek she had better prove she makes money off a dog breeding operation or she’ll lose her dogs.

Judge Michael Gillespie didn’t explain why he didn’t believe Cikanek’s statements regarding her finances from the home-based pug-breeding operation. But on Friday, she’ll have to show her records when she appears for a sentencing and restitution hearing at 9 a.m. in his courtroom in Coquille. A six-person jury convicted the North Bend woman of one count of first-degree animal abuse and 10 counts of second-degree animal neglect in October over her treatment of nine Tennessee Walking horses and one foal.
