Haz-Mat team finds no cause for ill janitors
North Bend and Coos Bay firefighters responded to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2250 16th St., in search of potentially hazardous chemicals, after two janitors became ill and went to Bay Area Hospital.

Tip leads police to drug suspect
Douglas County deputies cited Melanee P. Howard-Hart, 44, of Eugene on Tuesday on charges of possession of meth and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. The U.S. Coast Guard reported a suspicious vehicle under its tower in Winchester Bay in the 500 block of Triangle Road. Police released Howard-Hart, said spokesman Dwes Hutson.
