I'm one of those people who are OK with paying taxes and doing my part. HOWEVER, I am NOT OK with my tax dollars being wasted (latest report: $93BILLION dollars of gov't waste), I am NOT OK with my tax dollars bailing out failing private enterprises, or banks, or friends of politicians or presidents, or ACORN, or stupid and non-sensical pet projects, or a failing education system, etc., etc. But I suspect you're one of those people that my tax dollars support, so I don't expect you to understand private sector economics vs. government economics. In the private sector, we earn it. In the government sector, they print it.

HOWEVER, he has spent his entire career living off other people's tax dollars and his track record is indicative of someone who has little understanding of how the private sector creates wealth - wealth that Salem and D.C. so eagerly collect and redistribute. Time for change.

The people who don't mind paying taxes are those who recognize a responsibility to contribute to the common good. I guess that would not be a "valid" counter-argument if you do not feel others are worthy of your contribution. You must be Darwinian. Survival of the fittest and all that.

I thought ditto heads want less government involvement. Why is the private sector not creating more jobs and promoting business? In our case the local Chamber can't even support itself without handouts from all our local government entities.

Why can't we have something in between "a lot of taxes, a lot of waste" and "no taxes, no services"? It seems that the moderate candidate is all but extinct in American politics, particularly at local levels, and especially when it comes to economic policy.
Scott Roberts, State Dist. 9 candidate
