Man injured in Highway 38 crash

Medics took a 42-year-old man to a hospital following a crash Thursday night on state Highway 38 near Scottsburg.
Police responded to milepost 21, where a westbound 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser went off the road into trees and knocked over a fence, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office press log said. The rear-seat passenger, Kirt McCracken of Florence, suffered injuries to his head and a leg, an Oregon State Police press release and sheriff’s log said. He was taken to Lower Umpqua Hospital, along with the driver, Tyler McCracken, 15; and another passenger, Patricia McCracken, 42, neither of whom were injured police said. No citations were issued.
Kirt McCracken was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.
