Matchups set for state soccer playoffs

The soccer matchups for the playoffs involving South Coast teams were finalized in matches around the state on Tuesday.
Coquille’s boys learned that they will host North Marion on Saturday after the Huskies beat Estacada 5-1 in a Capital Conference playoff match. The winner of the first-round Class 4A match travels to top-ranked Phoenix on Tuesday.
North Bend, which finished second in the Far West League, has a first-round bye on Saturday and will travel to Cowapa League top seed Seaside next Tuesday. The Seagulls beat Astoria, the regular-season Cowapa champions, 2-1 in a league playoff match on Tuesday.
Brookings-Harbor, the Far West League’s top seed, will host Skyline League runner-up Henley in another second-round match Tuesday.
In the Class 4A-3A-2A-1A girls playoffs, North Bend, the No. 3 seed from District 3, will travel to Sweet Home, the No. 2 seed from District 4, for a first-round match Saturday. Philomath beat Sweet Home 5-0 to complete a perfect run in the league. The match is tentatively scheduled for 2 p.m., with the winner advancing to face Gladstone on Tuesday.
Brookings-Harbor, the District 3 champion, will host either North Valley or Molalla, who meet in a first-round match Saturday. Glide, the No. 2 seed, hosts Riverside on Saturday.
The admission for all first- and second-round matches is $6 for adults and $4 for students.
