Police look into report of abuse
From Staff Reports
Wednesday, November 04, 2009 |
Juvenile authorities took a 15-year-old girl into custody Tuesday, after receiving a sex assault report from staff at the Wineva Johnson Center for Girls near Coos Bay.
At about 11:12 a.m., a Coos County deputy went to the center to investigate a report of possible inappropriate contact between the suspect and possibly two other girls living there, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Pat Downing.
After the investigation, the deputy took the girl into custody over disruptive behavior that was considered a violation of her probation, Downing said. She was taken to a detention facility on the probation violation.
He said the case will be forwarded to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office.
