Siuslaw River: Rains are moving fish into upper tidewater and fresh fish are expected to pulse in soon. The last day to fish for cutthroat trout is today.
Coos County lakes: There was an additional stocking of both trophy- and legal-size trout last week in Empire Lakes and Butterfield Lake. Fishing for stocked trout has been excellent.
Coos River Basin: Trout fishing will close today.
A few bright Chinook have moved into Coos Bay this past week. Chinook fishing has been excellent at the mouth of Daniels Creek, in Catching Slough and at the Coos Bay city boardwalk.
Recreational crab harvest inside the bay has been excellent for those with boats and decent from the docks.
Coquille River Basin: Trout fishing will close after today.
A few bright Chinook moved into the lower Coquille River. The best bank fishing access is at the mouth of Sevenmile Creek.
The wild coho fishery runs through Nov. 30 or until a quota of 1,500 has been caught. Fishing in the lower Coquille River was excellent last weekend.
Diamond Lake: Diamond Lake is closed for angling from Nov. 1 through April 24, 2010.
Elk/Sixes River: ODFW creeled the mouth of Elk River over the weekend and anglers were averaging about 1⁄2 Chinook per angler. Look for the number of Chinook to increase as this is only the beginning of the run.
Pacific Ocean and beaches: Dungeness crab harvest is closed until Nov. 30.
Rogue River, lower: Fish numbers are starting to drop off. Some of the best fishing will be around the mouth of Indian Creek for Chinook and in the Agness to Foster Bar area for steelhead and half-pounders.
Tenmile Lakes: The blue green algae advisory still is in effect, according to the Oregon Department of Human Services.
Umpqua River mainstem: Small mouth fishing has slowed with the cooler water temperatures. Both coho and Chinook have been on the move and can be found up to River Forks. The first coho have already crossed Winchester Dam.
Winchester Bay: Fishing for sturgeon is slow. Crabbing has been good lately. Some Chinook and coho still are in Winchester Bay and anglers are bank fishing from Half Moon Bay, Osprey Point and Salmon Harbor.
Clamming: The Oregon coast is closed to clam and mussel harvest, but coastal bays remain open to recreational clamming.
Southwest Zone hunting: The South Coast Zone is closed through Nov. 25 for geese.
