A celebration of life will be held for Janet Lynn (Mayer) Johnson, 58, of Coos Bay, at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Lakeside Community Church, 720 N. Eighth St. in Lakeside, with a potluck to follow at the church. 

Janet was born Aug. 9, 1951, in Coos Bay, the daughter of Chester and Bettymae Mayer. She died Oct. 27, 2009, in Vancouver, Wash., of cancer.

Janet is survived by her husband of 21 years, Eric Johnson of Coos Bay; daughter, Danielle (Richards) Harbold and husband, JR Harbold of Vancouver; sons, Chester Paul Brown and Benjamin Brown, both of Coos Bay; her four stepsons and their spouses, Shane and Jessica Johnson of North Bend, Stephen and Chelsi Johnson of Roseburg, Scott and Erin Johnson of Roseburg and Skyler and Sheena Johnson of Hillsboro; brothers, Harold “Buster” Mayer and wife, Sue, Wayne Mayer and wife, Debbie and Kevin Mayer and wife, Deanna all of Coos Bay; beloved grandchildren, Lorenzo and Alex Christiansen and Jason Harbold of Vancouver, Tyler Brown of Coos Bay and Kylie Johnson of Roseburg; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Bettymae Mayer in 2008; grandparents, Harold and Jessie Mayer of Coos Bay, Earl and Minnie Simmons of Coquille and Warren and Eurah Fish of Vancouver; and nephew, Christopher Mayer.
