Well, I guess Jody McCaffree and her CAVE people have scored another hit on the liquefied natural gas plant coming to Coos Bay. Meanwhile, we still have people out of work, losing their homes and cars and going hungry — crime is also up. When The World reports crime, it nearly takes at least two columns.

If you idiot voters would take a little more time and investigate who you are voting for, maybe we could put a stop to the inofficious way Coos Bay is headed for disaster.

I hope and wish the voters would demand the politicians they voted for would work for the majority, and work building Coos Bay, instead of their do-nothing attitude, then Coos Bay could be a prosperous port again.

What is funny is the people that think LNG is going to save their homes their cars and put food on their tables. Get real folks, that is not going to happen. Do you really think they would hire many people from here and the ones they do hire will be low paying jobs. And the area will become MORE depressed as nobody will be able to sell houses here and nobody will want to move here, with the possibility of an LNG disaster.
Put away your rose colored glasses as far as this LNG goes, it will be anything buy rosy if it comes here! ! !

Just remember those want this LNG Project that Steve Pickering is against this when it comes time to vote.... We do need jobs in this area even if they are foriegn because the SCDC are not bringing in any family wage jobs.

I threw up in my mouth a little.

The Question Coos Bay needs to ask is not where will the jobs come from but where did they go to? The same Weyco that is getting 4 times the tax value of 1300 acres of sand dunes in the path of tsunami logged out Coos County. Instead of making lumber you started shipping logs. Short term greed consumed the resource base of the county. The greedy are the ones in the back room wheeling and dealing to get this LNG bomb to move here and suppressing alternatives. Jody McCaffree is a brilliant, hard working activist who is a gift to this Port, Community and County. If there was no one there to study these issues, question authorities and demand answers this would get a rubber stamp from the money changers. The future of Coos County and indeed all of Southern Oregon is that this is a beautiful place to live. The timber industry is in decline and the Port of Coos Bay is 300 miles from one of the smallest big cities in the country.

Hey there Mr. Nipper, you should meet Jody and ask her why she is opposed to LNG. She didn't start out that way. She did her homework. You will find her thoughtful, well informed and respected by all who have had the pleasure to meet her . . .even those who support the project.
