Port officials have scheduled the second special meeting in as many weeks to discuss land deals on the North Spit.

The Oregon International Port of Coos Bay’s commissioners have two possible property transaction proposals to consider, said Martin Callery, director of communications and freight mobility.

The issues will be discussed during an executive session starting at 10 a.m., Friday, in the commission chambers, 125 Central Ave., Suite 230. The special meeting will take place immediately following the executive session.

The commissioners met Oct. 22 to discuss extending an option agreement with liquefied natural gas developer Jordan Cove Energy Project, but they opted to do nothing.

Callery said he couldn’t say what  the proposals are since they will be discussed in executive session.

If it is simply a matter of property transaction proposals,Whats the need for executive session?

Get OVER the LNG SCAM already! IF they opted to do nothing, leave 'em alone already! We don't want 'em, we don't need 'em! CB LIFER said it best!

Are we really so "back woods" here, that if there's enough "push", we just say ok, destroy our natural surroundings? OK, we need jobs, but everyone else has turned this thing down, does that NOT give you people a clue???

I want to know, why a dangerous natural gas terminal can be placed on the North Spit, and I can't build a campfire and roast a hot dog with my grandkids? Why? We can blow them up, but not build a fire. Am I missing something?? Does this make sense? I can't go drive around out there because I might disturb a Snowy Plover, but they can build a gas terminal?? What's up with that, Can anyone tell me?????
