A celebration of life will be held for Rose Marie Jamison, 50, of North Bend, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, at the North Bend Church of Christ, 2761 Broadway Ave. in North Bend. Norm Russell and Pastor Lee Taft will officiate. Cremation rites have been held under the direction of Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary.

Rose was born Dec. 23, 1958, in Myrtle Point, the daughter of Kenneth P. and Judy Gorwell. She died Oct. 21, 2009, in Coos Bay.

She was raised and educated in Charleston and Coos Bay, graduating from Marshfield High School in 1977. She was married to Mark E. “Skip” Jamison on Sept. 18, 1982, in Lake Tahoe, Nev. They made their home in North Bend, where they have since lived. Rose worked as an instructional aide at Marshfield High School for nearly 15 years.

Rose had a heart for kids and she always wanted to see them succeed and be loved. She enjoyed reading, camping, spending time with her family and listening to music and playing the guitar. She participated in ROTC in high school so she could go flying. Rose grew up in the Charleston Community Church and later was a member of the North Bend Church of Christ and she also enjoyed meeting with the groups sponsored by Pastor Lee Taft.

Rose is survived by her husband, Skip Jamison of North Bend; son, Jerad Jamison of North Bend; daughter, Judy Jamison of North Bend; brother, Kenneth Gorwell of Springfield; brother, Roy Gorwell of North Bend; half-sister, Judy Ann Mogan of Coos Bay; and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Bernard “Pop” Gay.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bay Area First Step House, 1942 Sheridan Ave., North Bend, OR 97459.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson’s Bay Area Mortuary, 267-4216.
