The South Coast’s two state representatives have filed re-election papers with the Oregon Secretary of State’s office.

Rep. Wayne Krieger, R-Gold Beach, turned in his forms for District 1, while Rep. Arnie Roblan, D-Coos Bay, handed them over for District 9.

Roblan is seeking his fourth two-year term, while Krieger would serve a sixth  if re-elected. Both men fended off challengers in November 2008. Krieger defeated Democrat Rick Goche by a 58-42 margin; while Roblan took 63 percent of the votes against Republican Al Pearn.

No one else has filed for either position. The area’s two state senators, Jeff Kruse, R-Roseburg, and Joanne Verger, D-Coos Bay, were both re-elected to four-year terms in November 2008.

The deadline to file for the May primary is March 9, 2010.

Hmm...methinks the politicians are given too much credit for mistakes made by the masses in the initiative process.

I held up a big sign once that said
" VOTE THE BUM OUT!" - it didn't mention anybody by name at all. Cars were honking, people were waving and giving me the thumbs up signal and shouting support. When people get fed up with being lied to around here, sad to say they don't put up much of a fight! At least PIG NUTS has balls. lol

Do any of you remember Krieger's silly idea to put license fees on bicycles?

Do any of you remember when Krieger slammed Roblan with ads in the media during the last Roblan-Pearn campaign? Why didn't Wayne keep his nose in his own business?

Wayne's World. It's not my world!

I didn't like Arnie Roblin when I was in high school and still dont , this tax and spender has to go , if Roblin cared about youth in Coos County then he wouldn't run off business's' by raising taxes and piling on more regulations putting there parents out of work .

laughinghard wrote on Oct 22, 2009 8:47 AM:

roblen must go.

justrite wrote on Oct 22, 2009 8:42 AM:

I looked up Roblan's voting record and he did in fact support all the tax increases on the people of Oregon. The record speaks for it's self. We need the elect somebody who's looking out for the people not themselves.

swede wrote on Oct 21, 2009 9:25 PM:

I only can hope and remind people that Roblin voted through the biggest tax hike on workin' folks in history. He supported taxs on gas, fees, tobacco, dmv hikes, and many more. So don't forget he's not in touch with the south coast people. (unless you one of them that like to be taxed into 22nd of 2100.) Verger and him would like us to forget. Also he voted for a pay raise for himself. Shame on him.

TRUCKER,I can think of another tax and spend guy that is running for another office... He claims to have a vast knowledge of what goes on in Coos County, yet he goes to every meeting in Coos County......

justaguy wrote on Oct 21, 2009 2:23 PM:

Arnie Roblan is one the finest individuals we have representing us. He is a man of integrity who doesn't falter when the going gets tough. He stands firm against political pressure and fights for the youth of Coos County. Now Wayne Krieger.....that guys another story. Wacky Wayne is guy who has to go.

orecoast007 wrote on Oct 21, 2009 2:05 PM:

I think Rick Goche should run against Wayne Krieger........

justrite wrote on Oct 21, 2009 1:13 PM:
