The right keeps getting it wrong

It simply amazes me how wrong the Right is about nearly everything going on in America.

For example, those ridiculous “Tea Parties” — what I find really hilarious is people on Social Security motoring to Washington, D.C., on the Interstate Highway System, or lined up outside public libraries, saying, “Get government out of our lives.”

And where were those angry tea baggers when the Bush administration squandered away Clinton’s budget surpluses by simultaneously shoveling hundreds of billions of dollars into Iraq, while giving tax cuts to billionaires, and later, handing out hundreds of billions more to Wall Street and the banks?

Then, there’s the Right’s rant about high taxes. To see who’s really robbing them, they need to check the fees and interest rates listed on their latest credit card statements.

But perhaps the biggest thing that the Right gets wrong is who they blame for the current recession. First, they say it’s Obama, forgetting the crash happened while George Bush was minding the store.

They also blame big government, when it was “too-big-to-fail” financial firms like AIG, Merrill-Lynch, Citibank, Washington Mutual, Countrywide, etc., that wrecked the economy, then tapped their Wall Street pal running the Treasury for billions in bailout funds.

If the Right wants to get it right, they should squawk about Wall Street firms, insurance companies and big banks in our government, not government in our lives.

Anyone here ever stop to think that their might be something bigger going on here? How about the Federal Reserve. Whoever controls the money supply in our country basically controls everything. The Federal Reserve is able to print money out of thin air. They can devalue our money and cause endless inflation without anyone being able to know what or where the money is being given to. We need to spread this discussion to bigger issues then petty arguments between Republicans and Democrats. These arguments are not of much consequence. Stop being herded by the mainstream media into a perpetual argument, while the bigger problems are not talked about.

Thanks for your comments but you havent debunked anything for me. Have we always stockpiled these vaults? And what about the "stackabilty".I noticed you picked and chose which part of my comment to "debunk" and ignored the rest. And what you did address, you only gave me one possible explanation for what they were called and what you deem as their use. Just the sort of misdirecting, and sidestepping response I would expect from someone who either chooses to ignore the signs of our radically changing nation or is intentionally hoping to disuade reasonable questions about unreasonable, and distubing things occurring in our nation at an alarming speed.

TIABEAR: Well first of all, those are not coffins. They are vaults. It is what goes into the ground after the hole is dug. Then the coffin is placed into the vault and capped with a lid. Hopes are that the vault will keep the coffin from damage so it wont fall apart. If you have even been to a gravesite before they lower the coffin into the ground, you will see it is usually lined with cement. Its a concrete vault. In times of emergencies, such as Louisiana when so many died, its the safest way to bury the victims without their decomposing bodies creating more bacteria. Sorry to debunk your conspiracy theory.

tiabear wrote on Oct 2, 2009 9:42 AM:

By the way, has anyone gone on-line and googled Fema coffins? Check it out and ask yourself at least these three questions: 1) Why is each one so big? 2)Why are there so many premade coffins? and 3) Why are they stackable? Just what is the reason for these coffins? What exactly is being anticipated here? There's a lot going on these days people that we aren't being told about - right here at home.

This day and age I am seeing more and more people who claim god on one hand but show lack of that faith in their politics. That is hypocrisy. One of the best teachers of humility is to get knocked off one's pedestal, and have to roll around in the dirt with the very same people you used to look down upon.

I used to sneer and proclaim how those in need were all just freeloaders. Then, I lost everything in one week. My job, my home, all of my possessions, and even though it wasn't my fault, there were those who looked down at me, merely because they have never been there.

Most of the 10% unemployed and uninsured in this country are hard working Americans who were loyal to companies who didn't have the same loyalty to them, paid their taxes to a nation that refuses to help them get back on their feet.

The "lefties" posting on here are so quick to point out others' failings while not accepting that both parties, yes, theirs too, is failing miserably in governing our country. Greed exists on both sides of the aisle today, just as it has in the past, Democrat or Republican. I align myself as a Republican because I believe in self-reliance as opposed to being a member of society looking for government to babysit everyone, and living in the past by blaming others. That's easy, and we could all find plenty of blame both Dem of Re if one cares to look. My formal education is limited, I grew up in a housing project, I didn't like the lifestyle and I "learned to fish." Meaning I learned to fend for myself which has resulted in living a comfortable and self-sustaining lifestyle. I have plenty and don't envy the rich for their success, although I do blame many of the poor for not "learning to fish."

Isn’t the basis of capitalism the freedom of business to do what’s good for them in a free market?
You know, like American companies shipping jobs over seas to maximize profits via cheap labor. So all you out of work Republicans should rejoice, capitalism is alive and well.
Now if you’re serious about American capitalism you’ll need to work for wages equal to or below your over seas competition and then the jobs will come back to the US.

That’s Capitalism!

Justice....READ my last post. I am for people that are tired of supporting those that WONT do anything to support themselves. How does that equate to "corporations?".

NoGod...It doesnt take much observation to see when someone uses food stamps nor does it take much observation to see the abuses.

The PROBLEM with public assistance programs is not the program but rather the people that abuse it. People seem to think it is ok to sit on their behind and do nothing to improve their lives - just suck off the public's teat. More people would get help if the deadbeats got off of it. Leftists, however, can't seem to acknowledge that...or won't.

Taking money and giving it to people who DO NOT DESERVE it because of their own sloth, laziness, and lack of appliction is wrong. Period.

Personal responsibility...hope that term doesnt confuse you leftists...

Now they are grown and doing well, it’s my turn. Screw the hard work; I am back in school and I am going to suck every govt. program I can to pay for it and support me! I worked my a** off for years. Justice for All wrote on Sep 30, 2009 7:53 PM:

I'm not really sure where the right got the idea that everyone who doesn't have health insurance is a "deadbeat." Far from it, go ask a small business owner how much it costs to get healthcare for him/herself, and ask how much this amount has gone up lately. Go talk to any of the hundreds of thousands of Walmart employees across the U.S. who don't get health insurance. Or maybe check in to how many corporations are choosing to cut health insurance as a benefit due to massive premium increases.

Let's face it, for most people the American dream is dead. The average American worker makes 1/500 what the average American CEO makes. As long as people like DADO continue to buy in to arguments/distractions made by corporations and insurance companies, the richest 1% will continue its success in putting an end to our middle class.

Why do you think the insurance companies fight? The answer is easy, GREED. I just don't understand why so many people (although not the majority of Americans, thankfully) support corporate greed over the health of their neighbors.

And Conservativenotrepublican is dead on.

Our country was founded by a club of Rich White Men and none of you were invited to it. George Washington was a millionaire,Thomas Jefferson,James Madison,John Adams all wealthy merchants/lawyers etc. The original tea parties were thrown by wealthy merchants who along with the ruling class were angry that Britain raised their tea tax. Not one commoner wanted anything to do with it why? BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO POOR TO DRINK TEA and too busy working on farms/raising families. And for that matter no commoner cared why? They couldn't vote, nor could they hold office due to lack of land/property..

Here is a NYT article written in 1999, before Bush 43 took office.

"Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending."

(snip)
"...Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

The action will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans.
Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits. ...

... at least one study indicates that 18 percent of the loans in the subprime market went to black borrowers, compared to 5 per cent of loans in the conventional loan market. ...

Fannie Mae is taking on significantly more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980's."

Who forced Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to give loans to people who didn't have the ability to pay back the loans, all in the name of political correctness?
Answer: The Democrats.
Blame Barney Frank, Obama and Obama economic advisers like ex Fannie Mae CEO Frank Raines.
When it was pointed out that these federal mortgage outfits were facing financial crises because of loans they were being forced to make to bad credit individuals, Barney Frank had this to say:
’These two entities—Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac—are not facing any kind of financial crisis,’’ said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ‘’The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.’’

You dont get it..plain and simple. The right is fed up with people who do not contribute taking and taking and taking. You laugh about highways. The right..and the left..pays for those highways. Even poor people, when they pay gas tax, pay for them. Your point is misguided at best.

And, my friend, it is you who is clueless. People are fed up with supporting those that will not do anything to better themselves. Think I am kidding? Go to WalMart and see what the average food-stamp recipient buys (then turns around and buys booze and cigarettes with the money the "saved"). Talk to any medical office about how many people are not willing to pay a PENNY to get health care. Talk to just about any panhandler and ask them if they will actually work for food.

Your letter is not laughable. Your myopic view is.
