Police have tracked down a man wanted in Coos County for child pornography at a motel in Bend.
U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force arrested 43-year-old John Hudson of Coos Bay on Thursday night, at the Westward Ho Hotel. He is being charged with 20 counts of encouraging child sex abuse in the first degree and 20 counts of encouraging child sex abuse in the second degree.
The charges stem from an Oregon Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Child task force investigation. According to a U.S. Marshals’ office press release, police found the suspect with computers containing numerous pornographic pictures of minors.
Hudson fled Coos County after the charges were filed. Based on case profile provided by Oregon Department of Justice, federal marshals tracked him to the Bend area.
When police found Hudson in his hotel room, he had a large amount of cash and camping gear. Police said they believe he may have had intentions to hide out.
Hudson was being held at Deschutes County jail on $250,000 bail Friday afternoon.
