Youth golf clinic a big success

The seventh-annual Coquille Indian Tribe Youth Golf Clinic drew more than 100 golfers to the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort practice facility on July 16.
Co-sponsored by the Tribe and Bandon Dunes, the clinic provides instruction in golf fundamentals including putting, chipping and driving. Bandon Dunes pros and experienced student interns provided the training.
The clinic and a free three-day golf camp for 18 youths who participated in the one-day event, were funded through an adult tournament held at Watson Ranch on July 18.
The Y Marina team won that tournament with a score of 58, while Three Rivers Casino had the best net score, a 43.
