The Southwestern Oregon Football Officials Association will have its first regular meeting on Monday at Pirate Hall on the Marshfield High School campus.

The group is welcoming new officials, and returning officials also should plan on attending the meeting.

Anyone interested in joining the officials group should contact Larry Reiber at 269-5103 or 297-3950. People interested in becoming officials also can pick up informational packets, including new rules, at Scoville & Reiber, PC, located at 391 N. Second St. In Coos Bay.

New officials are needed because of the extensive area served by the association, which covers games from Reedsport to Brookings and inland to Powers. The association officiates high school, middle school and youth league football games.

For more information, call Reiber, Craig Storm (252-6086), Brad Lillebo (756-4723), Rocky Buckles (347-2028), Larry Rescorla (297-1265) or Michael Bennett (404-1318).

Rules Clinic

The Southwestern Oregon Football Officials Association will hold its annual rules clinic to go over rule revisions and other points of emphasis on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Pirate Hall.

Football coaches and athletic directors are invited to attend the meeting, which should take about 90 minutes and will be followed by a social hosted by the association.

In addition to discussions on new and revised rules and points of emphasis, the meeting also will include a question-and-answer session.

For more information, contact Larry Reiber at 269-5103.
