Crash on Hwy 38 kills woman
A woman died and her 20-month-old son suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident early this morning east of Reedsport on  State Highway 38.

Searchers look for body
Douglas County deputies planned to return to their search today on the Umpqua River to find the body of a 15-year-old Springfield boy who was swept into rapids between Elkton and Scottsburg on Saturday.

Groping brings arrest
North Bend police arrested a man Monday on sex charges after a detective saw someone groping two girls near Pony Village Mall.

Man jailed in assault
North Bend police responded to Alderwood Apartments, 1960 Maple St., after receiving a call of a woman screaming loudly. They charged Kai M. Dendy, 21, of Coos Bay with fourth-degree domestic assault and strangulation. He was taken to Coos County jail and held this morning on $15,000 bail.

RV fire accidental
No one was hurt in an accidental trailer fire early Sunday at the River’s Edge RV Park in Coquille.

One jailed in drug case
Reedsport police officers arrested a Gold Beach woman early today in a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 101 near Reedsport on West Road.
