The Friends of the Dora Library have been busy baking. They’ll return to the Coos County Fair on Saturday with the fruits of their labor, selling homemade fruit pies and craft items to benefit the Dora library’s expansion.
Member Laura Rose said their table is located in the community tent near the main office.
For the past three years, the group has been selling home-crafted items and 6-inch pies at various festivals throughout the year. Several fruits will be available: apple, peach, blackberry, loganberry, rhubarb and blueberry.
Rose said quilted table runners, potholders, pin cushions, aprons in “retro” style and other useful crafts are available at their table, in addition to their pastries and blackberry jelly made with cabernet sauvignon wine.
The members plan to make about 200 pies, with help from friends and family.
