The July Jubilee will mark North Bend’s 106th-birthday celebration on Friday and Saturday, July 17-18. Many local businesses are participating, according to their press release.
The events begin noon, Friday with the North Bend Public Library’s Childrens Party and Storytelling.
Historic Landmark Present-ations will be held from 3 to 4: 30 p.m. at Ferry Road Park.
North Bend Mayor Wetherell will seal the Oregon 150 time capsle at the North Bend Library.
There will be a free outdoor concert at North Bend Lanes from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday.
A variety of events are scheduled for Saturday:
• Chili cookoff at 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Pony Village Mall.
• All Car Show ‘n’ Shine with free hotdogs at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., North Bend Lanes.
• Coos Historial & Maritime Museum has exhibits running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Disc Golf Tournament will start at 10 a.m. and go until 4 p.m., Winsor Disc Park.
• “A Taste of Downtown” will feature local vendors near Sozos Tea & Coffee from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., free ice cream from 1 to 3 p.m.
• Scrapbooking expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Pony Village Mall.
• Trout fishing for kids 12 and under from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Pony Village Mall.
• G-Force Go-Kart Races for all ages from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Pony Village Mall.
• Birthday cake cutting, 2 p.m., next to Sozos.
• Barbecue from 4 to 8 p.m., North Bend Lanes.
• Kids event from 4 to 8 p.m., North Bend Community Center.
• July Jubilee Annual Car Cruise through Downtown North Bend from 6 to 8 p.m. with an awards ceremony following at North Bend Lanes.
