Dune danger sends several to area hospitals
Emergency responders saw plenty of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area over the holiday as all-terrain vehicle riders suffered a plethora of injuries and took trips to area hospitals.

Robber eludes police
Coos Bay police still are searching for a man who robbed the Wells Fargo bank on Friday morning. The suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous, is reportedly about 6 feet tall, medium build with a dark complexion or suntan and is in his 30s or 40s. He has a tattoo on the back of his neck.

Pic Crash cuts power
As many as 2,000 Charleston-area residents lost power for five hours Sunday, after a car crashed into a utility pole on the Cape Arago Highway.

Car careen hurts one
A Florence man was hurt Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 101 near Dunes City.
