True, President Obama is literate, which one should expect from the leader of out country. But we all can't be professors and lawyers, can we? No, some of us have to be former alcoholics, who own sports teams and can't pronounce the word 'nuclear.'

Come with me to my work sometime, anytime, I can show you example after example for as long as you choose to stay and witness it.
Anytime.
Everyone wants the Gov't. to help but no one wants to pay for it.

"Think Progress previously reported the outright lie being told by Republicans that the green economy legislation before Congress would 'cost every American family up to $3,100 per year in higher energy prices.' GOP leaders apparently arrived at this number by intentionally misinterpreting a 2007 study conducted by MIT.
PolitiFact interviewed John Reilly, an MIT professor and one of the authors of the study, who explained he had spoken with a representative from the House Republicans on March 20, and that he had clearly told them, 'why the estimate they had was probably incorrect and what they should do to correct it.' Nonetheless, Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) and Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) decided to use the $3,100 figure to attack cap-and-trade, while the National Republican Campaign Committee blasted dozens of press releases.

Good thing I got Altzheimers and can't remember anything I hear and read anyway.

Thom Hartmann is one of the few that will teach you the true history of the united states. Which policies have what effect on the people, economy and more.
Listening to fox is a sure way to boil up unwarranted hatred by the wealthy right on to the anti fascist/corporate middle class. Their sole purpose is to enable the super wealthy to gain more wealth at a faster pace. To get a reaganomics person elected to office to re deregulate and allow for more pillaging of our economy. Look up, Goldman Sachs: The great American bubble machine
See what they've been doing to us while the right throws out minor issues to keep you divided and voting for them.

FOX NEWS IS THE ONLY NEWS TO TELL THE TRUTH, but of course a lot of you are affraid of that, aren't you. You don't live in reality.
Also I cannot believe how many people don't read a newspaper, let alone two or more a day.
I used to listen to the "other stations" in the morning and now realize the are all fluff and no news. I keep Fox on almost all the time now.

Your comments are laughable. Both my sons are veterans of the armed forces and neither one has VA health benefits. Perhaps you should delve a little deeper into the facts before spouting off. As for socialized medicine....name a country who thinks that it is the best thing since sliced bread.

Last time I heard welfare was reformed to be limited to five years with a two year time table to find work. But thats O.K., lets kill off those pesky tree huggers! Also anytime that anyone foolish enough to show leadership and wants to reinvest in local infrastructure to replace jobs lost, well lets kick and scream about taxes even though we have no income or property to tax. I would love to have a swig of the stuff that you folks are drinking!!

I would like nothing more than to take down the elitist faction.
There are no perfect worlds & not everyone wants help or wants to help themselves. Why should the burden of the unemployed be spread upon society? Why is it not the responsibility of family? That is one of the problems, there is no accountability being practiced within the family unit.
The system is broken & it will take an entire generation or more to resolve the social issues, if ever. Being an enabler helps no one.
We have yet to begin recovery, fundamental change will only commence when enough of the middle class is truly uncomfortable.

Don't preach to me, your reading comprehension is less than desirable.
Do I need to spell it out for you?
Just Me no one is forcing you to live the life you live, you choose to live what ever life it is. You have a choice & it appears your choice is to play the role of a victim. You can't have your cake & eat it too. You want to say welfare recipients DON'T want to work but SSI Disability recipients do? It is what it is, a social service program. I never said I was not sympathetic, I just don't condone the poor me state of mind.
To assume the label is debilitating in itself, it only becomes a self fulfilling prophecy from there.
NB_Rez wrote on Jul 7, 2009 10:38 AM:
Every administration had it's problems. We need to stop trying to assign blame on what has happened but rather try to resolve what will happen. This country has one of the most dependent social service programs in the world, and it costs us greatly. Taxes are high and continue to rise to support an ever growing government. This Amnesty legislation will break us, as it potentially allows for over 100 million illegal immigrants to become citizens in just the next few years. On top of that, add a National Health Plan? A plan that has PROVEN not to work in other countries. Within another 5-10 years, we'll be lucky to be able to take home even 20% of our paychecks.

If 100% employment is impossible, what do the people of the united states do with the unemployed?
Your philosophy would seem to be, let them die or rob you to survive. It's this lack of fore sight and inability to reason that has this once great country divided as it is. Your support for a party that is bent on destroying the middle class is insane at least.

People need to address the real issues.
The fraud perpetrated on Americans by all of our elected government officials. Socialized risk & privatized profits is unacceptable. We have been made debt slaves while Bond Holders & Bank executives have been made whole on investments that they engineered & assumed the risk for. We the taxpayer should not be eating the defaulted debt.
That is the true ignorance that exists Mr. NB_REZ whoosey whats it...

I must have missed that he won the lottery along the way & is able to live foot loose & fancy free without needing to sponge off of the federal governments disability program.
Wise up joker!
Every one of these anti big government brainwashed individuals feel that civil service is actually a civil servant! If they have their way you will not receive a pension let alone any sort of disability benefit. It is deemed as big government taking my money & throwing it away.
Obviously Bill felt the need to broadcast that he is a disabled postal worker. It infers that he is on disability, he could have stated retired federal employee.
And for the record welfare & disability checks are both in the same category, they are social services. Receipt of compensation without working for it.
Kay wrote on Jul 6, 2009 4:34 PM:
To PIG NUTS - How do you know he's collecting disability? The article says nothing about him collecting any benefits. It simply states he is a disabled postal worker. For all you know he has refused any benefits. And for the record, diability is not the same as welfare. Your ignorance on this and other posted comments of yours continues to amaze me.
YUP, I'm sure he'll give up his "benefits" AND his SS income.

"give it to those who refuse to work"
How typical, the pot calling the kettle black.
If he was so patriotic he would lead by example & refuse to accept the welfare check he receives.
