The Three Rivers Sandblasters swept a pair of games from the visiting Beaverton All-Stars on Friday.

Three Rivers won the opener 14-4, scoring eight runs in the second inning and cruising to a win by the mercy rule in the fifth frame.

Zach Laxague and Cole Skriver each had home runs and Ricky Ballentine and Willy Grader hit triples for Three Rivers in the win. Trevor Roberts picked up the victory on the mound.

In the nightcap, the Sandblasters won 10-7. Kyle Davis had a three-run double in the third to give Three Rivers the lead for good and Laxague added a two-run triple in the fourth.

Jake Stevens was the winning pitcher, with Ballentine and Joe Crowe providing relief.

Three Rivers won two of the three games in the series with Beaverton.

The Sandblasters are in Grants Pass for a single game Sunday before returning home for a crucial Zone 3 stretch starting with a game against Richey’s Market in Florence on Tuesday.

That starts a run of seven league games in eight days.

The Sandblasters are at league-leading Withnell Dodge in Salem on Wednesday, visit the Eugene Challengers for a nonleague game Thursday, travel to Corvallis to face Richey’s Market on Friday, visit Springfield on Saturday, host the Mid-Valley Rockets on Sunday, visit Post 9 in Salem on Monday and host Richey’s Market again on Tuesday.

Three Rivers is 7-4 in league play, good for third place.
