Police narrow tire-slashing investigation

Monday, June 29, 2009 |
Reedsport police officers believe a man from outside of the area may be responsible for recent tire slashings that occurred sometime on the night of June 15 or early the next morning in downtown Reedsport.
Officers are investigating the incidents, in which at least 11 vehicle tires were slashed, and are trying to collect damage reports from victims.
"We have received several tips that have led us to the recovery of evidence and a potential suspect," wrote Sgt. Tom Beck in a Reedsport Police Department press release.
Once police are satisfied they've identified all victims of the tire slasher, they will request a felony warrant from the Douglas County District Attorney's Office.
No other information was available due to the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information or who may have seen something suspicious on those evenings is encouraged to call the Reedsport Police Department at (541) 271-2100.
