"only take bids from businesses in this county"
More than likely, if the talent was local, it was already spoon fed to them.
To make up for the ones they can't spoon feed they created this neat little public private company to slip a cool 100K into the poor & needy's pocket.
How stupid can you be to wish for protectionism by county? This is America, supposedly a free market capitalistic system.
Beggars can't be choosy, service job is better than no job at all. You missed the boat for manufacturing jobs & you will miss the boat for a service job as well.
The future will behold a Biological Military Industrial Complex with foreign countries puking our worthless bonds that they purchased as investments... Japan was just caught puking our bonds in Italy.
Bullets fly when people get screwed over financially.
Plan for this & we could see some form of industry land here. That will never happen though, just look at what they have promoting the land of opportunity.

The deficit, which of course is related to the debt, is what one should care about..If one creates a chart comparing national debt and gross domestic product during Bush's term and Clinton's term...proportion-wise, it's virtually the same. Sure, both are higher dollar-wise under Bush than they were under Clinton...however, again, proportion-wise, there's simply not THAT much difference. And, the same goes with spending.

Our unemployment rate is at 8% and the only reason it is that right now, is because all the college students haven't begun all their work for the summer yet.

"Such simple-minded political rhetoric is not good for the country."
Right, I can recall all of the supportive comments about the 8 years of the Bush Administration!!
As far as his other point:
Reagan's tax cuts and expansion of free trade created a sustained economic expansion creating America's greatest sustained wave of prosperity ever. The American economy grew by more than a third in size, producing a $15 trillion increase in American wealth. Every income group, from the richest, middle class and poorest in this country, grew its income (1981-1989).

Wake up before it is too late to lift this economy out of total mess. Stop these crazy bills.

YOu "ain't" seen nothing yet as the old saying goes.
If he gets his cap and trade bill to save us from global warming that doesn't exist as we have just experienced the coldest spring for years, the price of all energy will go through the roof plus the regulations on business will kill our economy.
If he gets his health care, you won't have to worry about the elderly as they will not receive health care and will still start dying at younger and younger ages. The taxes raised to support this mess will leave you with little or nothing to live on.

We voted for the pipeline-$29 million.
How many jobs?
We voted the uneeded airport terminal - $39 million.
How many jobs?
$10 million for the Railroad - how many jobs? Other than SCDC and the Port staff?
Don't say WE don't want it.
WE pay for it and get the shaft.
Over and over and over.
What say you?
