National forest auctioning mushroom-gather permits

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 |
The Siuslaw National Forest is preparing for an annual commercial Matsutake mushroom sale in July 2009.
The contracts will be offered by sealed bid auction instead of permits under the lottery system as in the past.
More information regarding these and other changes will be mailed to people on a forest mailing list within the next couple of weeks.
People who want to be on the Siuslaw Matsutake mushroom mailing list, or those already registered who need to update an address, should call the Siuslaw National Forest Supervisor’s Office at (541) 750-7103 or 750-7082, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday to update this information.
