North Bend lists top students

North Bend High School's graduation is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the high school gym, 2323 Pacific Ave.
Valedictorians
Karen L. Fowler is the daughter of Steven D. Fowler and Barbara Taylor of North Bend. She has been active in swimming, competing at state in 2009. Karen also earned the Girl Scout Award and was a participant in the Ford Family Leadership Program. She enjoys rafting, hunting, fishing, shooting, writing poetry, drawing and playing the piano.
Karen plans to attend Oregon State University in Corvallis, where she will major in animal sciences.
Tasha Livingstone is the daughter of Yvonne Livingstone and granddaughter of Mae Livingstone both of Coos Bay. She is very active in various organizations. Tasha was elected as the secretary of the National Honors Society. She also participated in the Key Club’s 2008 Christmas Canned Food Drive. Tasha’s greatest hobby includes Irish, modern and belly dancing. She choreographed and presented three dances for the NBHS Modern Dance Program and Waves each year from 2007.
She has received several scholarships, including the Presidential Scholarship. Tasha plans to attend Oregon State University’s College of Forestry to major in forest management.
Cris Hernandez Osorio is the son of Raul Hernandez and Josefa Osorio both of Coos Bay. His extracurricular activities include countless hours of community service in which he has taken on several leadership roles. He was a participant in the Mr. Bulldog Pageant. Cris has been a member of the student council all four years of high school, including an Associated Student Body officer his senior year. He served as a Link Crew leader (helping out younger peers) for the past two years at NBHS. Cris also started the Spanish Club at NBHS and was the president for two consecutive years. Cris loves to run, work out and create/listen to music.
He plans to attend the University of Portland to major in pre-medicine.
Salutatorian
Brannon J. Bogs is the son of David and Royce Bogs of North Bend. He is the recipient of the 2007 Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership award and is a member of the National Honor Society. Brannon enjoys playing sports, hanging out with friends, cooking and playing video games. Brannon follows his dad and older brother as a graduate of NBHS.
He plans to attend Southwestern Oregon Community College and major in small business management.
