Myrtle Point High names tops in Class of 2009

Myrtle Point High School will hold its graduation ceremonies at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, in the high school gym.
Valedictorian
Ashley Brugnoli is the daughter of Mary Kay Mast of Myrtle Point and Larry Brugnoli of Myrtle Point.
While attending MPHS, Ashley has been a member of the equestrian team, placing second in state in barrels and steer daubing. She is the student body president and a member of the Future Farmers of America, 4-H and National Honor Society.
Ashley plans to attend Linfield College in McMinnville, majoring in physical therapy.
Salutatorian
Samantha Sanders is the daughter of Mike and Kari Sanders of Myrtle Point. While attending MPHS Samantha was on the basketball, volleyball and track teams. She was awarded Most Valuable Player of the League in basketball in 2008 and 2009. She also is a member and chapter president of the FFA and has been in the National Honor Society since her sophomore year.
Samantha plans to attend Linn-Benton Community College on a basketball scholarship. She will major in physical education and health.
