Care comes in a call at new business

Sunday, May 24, 2009 |
In spite of all the economic bad news, a Bay Area couple is trying to do something positive by starting a new business, a press release said.
Helen and Ken Thompson created Caring Call, a business geared toward elderly folks who desire to keep their independence and live alone.
“As you are well aware, we have an ever increasing aging population,” Helen said. “Baby Boomers are getting older, as are their elderly parents. Caring Call provides a brief daily call to the elderly to check-in on them.”
The Thompsons give seniors a call once a day and ask them if they’re OK.
If no one picks up the phone, the phone is continually busy, the person is requesting help, or they have other cause for concern, they’ll immediately contact the person(s) listed as their emergency contact.
For more information or for prices, call the Thompsons at 347-9141 or 347-1500.
