Wednesday, May 20, 2009 |
Police tacked charges onto a man's rap sheet, after finding a bag of drugs at the Reedsport jail.
The investigation began at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, when an Oregon State Police trooper pulled over a 2000 Cadillac Catera four-door for speeding near the intersection of U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 38 in Reedsport. While approaching the car, the trooper noticed the passenger who he believed to be impaired.
The trooper found the passenger Jose A. Sanchez Villanueva, 22, was wanted on a Lincoln County warrant on a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine. The trooper arrested him and took him to the Reedsport jail.
At the jail, a Reedsport police officer found Sanchez Villanueva had carried a small bag of what he believed to be meth into the jail. Officers cited him with unlawful possession of meth and introducing contraband into the jail. Sanchez Villanueva was taken to Lincoln County on Tuesday.
