Former Coquille track coach Wendi Boutiette will go to trial to fight sex abuse charges.
In court today, a judge set the trial for the week of Oct. 26 in Coos County Circuit Court.
Coquille police arrested Boutiette in February, alleging she had sexual contact with a former athlete. Police arrested her on charges of second-degree sexual abuse, contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor and sexual misconduct. The charges stem from an incident in 2006 involving a teenage boy who was on the Coquille High School track team. Boutiette's attorney denied she ever had physical contact with the teenager. Boutiette was an assistant coach at the time.
