Soulpie is a collaboration of local musicians who are highly talented, experienced and come from all walks of life, dedicating themselves to the highest standards of performance and showmanship, according to the band’s Web site,
www.soulpie.us.
“The band’s sound is a synthesis of musical traditions from the clean, precise, jazz-influenced sounds of New York City to the gritty soul and blues of Chicago and Memphis’ Stax of the 1960s,” the Web site said.
“With a repertoire spanning from Motown to Memphis, New York to New Orleans, from the cool grooves of the Neville Brothers, to the explosive intensity of James Brown and legendary Stax performers like Wilson Pickett, Soulpie will deliver the passion, commitment and the energized stage presence that captures the audience from the moment the band explodes onto the stage.”
