Meet this week's dog and cat available for adoption at the Coos County Animal Shelter in The World's feature, "Pets of the Week."
A reference number is provided with the photo for each pet. This week's pets are:
• Dog of the Week Chef is a 5-year-old Dalmatian mix. Volunteers say he "is absolutely adorable and is good with other dogs as well as cats and children." He's current on his vaccinations, but has a flea allergy and requires monthly flea medication. He's neutered and his adoption includes a special package. His case number is D09-102.
• Cat of the Week Stitch is an adult female shorthair calico. Volunteers describe her as beautiful and very sweet. Her adoption includes a low-cost spay. Her case number is C209.
Last week's pets, Payneyu, a longhair cat, and Moose, a boxer/pit bull mix, still are waiting for adoption.
The Coos County Animal Shelter is at 92960 Southport Road in Coos Bay. Shelter hours are from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
