Bobcats get first win
Myrtle Point topped Coquille 15-12, the Bobcats’ first Sunset Conference win of the season.
“It was fantastic,” said Myrtle Point coach John Marquez. “The girls deserved this win and they worked hard. I’m proud of them for what they did.”
The Bobcats did their damage with two big innings late in the game, scoring seven runs in the fourth inning and six runs in the sixth.
“Being down 9-2, no one ever imagined we would win this game,” Marquez said. “Our offense finally hit the ball.”
Marquez said for once the ball bounced Myrtle Point’s way.
“Coquille did a great job, but we had a few breaks go our way with errors that they made,” he said.

Coquille won the second game of the doubleheader, which didn’t count in the league standings.
