Cardinal Services honored as top company

Sunday, May 10, 2009 |
Cardinal Services was recently honored by Oregon Business Magazine as one of the top 30 medium sized companies to work for in Oregon. This annual survey looks at employee pay, benefits and working conditions, while putting heavy emphasis on an employee survey.
Cardinal is a human resource consulting company that was started in Coos Bay/North Bend in 1984 by Bud and Gail Freeman. Today the company employs 45 people in eight Oregon offices, offering hiring support, payroll and benefit administration, and human resource consulting.
“I wish I could take credit for this award but, really it reflects on the quality of the people we have working here,” said Bud Freeman. “Almost one-third have been here over 10 years.”
“I remember the good old days when there were four of us doing everything and loving it,” said Louie Liberante, who has been with the company for more than 20 years. “Bud and Gail treat all 40 employees today just like they treated the four of us 20 years ago.”
Cardinal was also honored by The World newspaper for a People’s Choice award as the top staffing firm in the Bay Area. This is the second year they have been so honored.
