Bandon power outage

A handful of Bandon electricity customers lost their power Tuesday morning when an insulator failed.
The outage was centered near Harvey Lane, said Jim Wickstrom, lead lineman for the city's electric department. Workers had to put out a small fire on the utility pole caused by sparks from the malfunctioning equipment. They had everything in working order within about an hour.
Wickstrom said there were either three or four houses affected by the problem, which was reported at about 6:45 a.m.
