Man gets life sentence for killing judge's daughter

Friday, April 10, 2009 |
OREGON CITY (AP) - A man who stabbed a judge's daughter to death in a murder-for-hire scheme has been sentenced to life in prison.
A Clackamas County jury convicted 35-year-old Robert Burton Bettelyoun of aggravated murder last month and could have sentenced him to death for killing 21-year-old Meghan Kohl.
But the jury decided Thursday that his potential for future violence did not pose enough of a threat to justify execution.
