People enjoy a meal at the Bay Area Senior Center in Coos Bay during the new Monday lunch hour.

Local businessman John Ambrosini is donating food to the center so that it can provide lunch Mondays and Tuesdays and stay open five days a week, said senior center head of nutrition Alyce Dubisar. “What he’s doing is a wonderful thing,” she said.

Ambrosini said he’s willing to keep up the donations for up to two years, but he’s hoping other people step in to help with donations.

Thank You wrote on Apr 6, 2009 12:47 PM:

From everthing I've seen and heard, John has chosen to give and help. He could make other choices. Some people as have commented here, will find fault and criticism with everything....Thank you John, and I hope you continue your altruism.

I am a survivor because of John's KINDNESS! He helped me when I was at my lowest point, penniless, and sick, he helped me find my way back to a healthier self. now I least can live each day with less pain. I am terminal, Medical Marijuana is the only way I am able to eat, to keep my stomach wanting food and aid in the pain my body is wracked with. I am not eligible for insurance anywhere nor is the STATE helping me. I can't afford most of the treatments or the over the counter medicines. The fact is not him helping us in this matter it is the fact he GIVES BACK. He must report all his business to the goverment who is always checking the records. so unless YOU have audited his books. come on what do u really know (just you speculating) He helps so many just like me. Bless him for feeding so many and giving us all a wonderful feeling of community. More should step up like him and not sit on the patooties ranting and raving about things. THANKYOU To John and Sandy they are really stand up folks.PEACE

What Im saying is he has to do something with his excess amount of money to appease the IRS, because he is NOT suppose to be collecting ANY monies AT ALL for the medicinal marijuana. Hes suppose to be giving it away for FREE. Not buying Harleys with it.

And you sure dont know this man at all, hes very far from being a Christian, he has very selfish motives.

You should give because you want to, not because you have to hide money from the FEDS.

Yes, thank you John, you have proven to be a great contributor to our community. May we have more generous people like you and less naysayers.

So what you're saying is, John helps people get their medical marijuana AND he helps feed our seniors. So the man HELPS the sick and the poor. I'd say he is a far GREATER man then most in this area. I don't know John's religion but this is one of the few examples of TRUE Christian fellowship that I've seen in over 10 years. THANK YOU JOHN! PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND IGNORE THE NEGATIVITY.

has to help people.

His non-profit medical marijuana business is NOT suppose to be collecting any monies, yet takes in thousands a week, so he has to do something with that money!

What a guy!
