What is it anyway that the fishermen are getting, that you are "whining" about anyway ?
I guess I missed the part about them getting any "Golden Parachutes" or excessive bonuses, because of their jobs being taken away.
So I would like to have YOU quit whining and sniffling about fishermen and get back to work so you can pay some taxes to the welfare recipients around here that don't even want to work.

They did not make good wages as you put it, and the "short time" they got to fish, wasn't that they wanted to work short periods, it was the rules and times they were given to fish, which was short. They would have loved to fish longer.
The good wages you mention were not "good" for all the work they put in to make them, and the expenses they had to even get to fish.
Get your facts straight Mr. you certainly are just too worried about the fishermen for some reason, what the heck is it ? ? ?
Must have lost your girlfriend to a fisherman, ha ha ! ! ! !

Have you ever been out on the ocean and watched the sea lions take ONE BITE out of a salmon and go on to the next to take one bite out of another one, and just waste one salmon after another.

My husband also got laid off after 35 years at the paper mill and was too young to retire so took his way discounted retirement and bought a commercial fishing boat (he bought his job) and now after a short 5 years he can't fish. So I don't think you would call that whining, but he is darn mad. All his money tied up in something he can't use now and can't sell either.
Also he don't sit on a bar stool, he don't drink ! ! ! ! !

I guess you "cry me a river" know of a lot of jobs available right now. Good for you, go get one. So you can pay for important things with your taxes, like the airport terminal, the boardwalks, the bike paths, the railroad that is costing a fortune and will probably never get fixed or used.
As the saying goes, what goes around comes around, hope your NEVER OUT OF A JOB ! And hope you never need unemployment or collect Social Security.

You need to realize that fishing is a very big part of our local economy. This includes the professional fishermen as well as the Charter Companies. I for one support the fishermen!
