The Coos Bay Wal-Mart is collecting cans or boxed food items for South Coast Food Share in a statewide food drive competition against other Oregon Wal-Mart stores.
Food donations can be dropped off at the store Newmark Avenue through Friday, a press release said.
A program of Oregon Coast Community Action, South Coast Food Share supports 33 local food pantries and meal sites in Coos and Curry counties through food donations and food from the Oregon Food Bank.
The Coos Bay store also participates in the Fresh Alliance program, which supports regional food banks with donations of fresh, perishable protein, dairy, produce and other items.
