A Pontiac lies on its side after it crashed north of Bandon on Monday. A passenger was taken to the hospital after he was thrown from the vehicle.
Medics rushed a man to the hospital after a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. Highway 101 near Bandon Monday.
At about 11:20 a.m., a 2009 Pontiac was heading north near milepost 257 when it left the road, rolled several times and landed on it side in a grassy area near the Bandon Dunes entrance, according to an Oregon State Police press release. Police said an 18-year-old passenger, Andrew Reif, was ejected from the Pontiac during the accident. He was taken to Bay Area Hospital, where he was in fair condition this morning, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The driver, Marcus D. Broady, 20, of Brea, Calif., was cited on careless driving and not having a driver's license.
