Hotsteppers take fourth

Bandon High School’s dance team had its best finish to date at the state championships over the weekend.
The Hotsteppers took fourth place in the Class 3A-2A-1A division, the second time they have earned a state trophy.
Santiam won the title in the division at the Chiles Center at the University of Portland. Valley Catholic was second and Amity third.
In other championships decided Saturday, Stayton won the Class 4A division, while Lincoln (Class 6A large), Sheldon (Class 6A small) and Pendleton (Class 5A large) also were champions.
Marshfield finished fourth in the Class 5A small division, which was completed last Thursday.
