Sunday’s blustery weather played havoc with drivers when a number of fallen trees and mudslides blocked area roadways.

Vandals smash school windows in Coos Bay
Police are investigating vandalism at Madison Elementary School in which several windows were broken at about 5 this morning, according to a Coos Bay police log.

Coos Bay man arrested on warrant
A Coos Bay man went to the Coos County jail Thursday after police arrested him on warrant charges.

Man arrested on drunk driving and assault charges
According to a Coos Bay police log, at 10:17 p.m. Friday, officers arrested Kirby Sauers, 46, of Coos Bay on charges of driving under the influence and fourth-degree domestic assault. He was taken to Coos County jail where he was being held this morning on $15,000 bail.

Coquille man arrested on assault charge
At about 8 a.m. Thursday, police took Coquille resident Matthew Smith, 24, into custody on third-degree assault at 1360 Canyon Way. He was taken to the Coos County jail, where was released Friday on his own recognizance.

Reedsport police arrest one on assault charge
At about 2 p.m. Saturday, police arrested John H. Greenwood, 25, on charges of fourth-degree assault, strangulation and menacing.

Coquille police arrest pair
At about 4:45 p.m. Saturday, officers went to a residence at 660 SE Third St. and arrested Devin Athorne, 22, on charges of third-degree assault, menacing and second-degree criminal mischief, a police log said. They also arrested Ryan Fleek, 19, on a charge of hindering prosecution.
