Linda Sue Foley’s killer likely didn’t use a weapon.

Instead, an autopsy for the 59-year-old woman, believed to have been murdered on Thursday, reveals she died of internal bleeding caused by severe blunt-force trauma — consistent with being forcefully struck with a hand.

According to a press release from the Coos County District Attorney’s office, the Bunker Hill woman’s autopsy, which was completed Saturday afternoon, said trauma to the head, neck, chest and abdomen led to her death. Henry Cozad, 18, who lived with Foley and his father, has been charged with murder and remains at the Coos County jail.

We lived in the area & I knew Henry when he was little. It is a shame what happened. You never know when one can snap, mentally challenged or normal. What caused him to snap? Henry needed help. Maybe Linda and Fred needed more help on how to deal with this type of illness. We will never know. The district had been warned by the teacher the year before. Could it be that the system failed all of them? My heart goes out to all family members. These kids have always been very special in my heart. It is a very said day for all involved.

I KNOW the system failed Henry and his parents. I have known the family for all my life and they may be poor but which one of you would take in someone and give them your last dollar?? That is what this family is about. They have more love than money. Gee!! Is that a crime? I guess it is. Not many I think. Yes, the picture says much but NOT near enougg. Henry has needed help for many years and like so many others he was failed by our system. I pray that now he will finally get the help that has been denied him by the "experts". Linda would not want him to be judged and treated like the animal you all think he is. Think about it!!

Who knows what was really going on in the house. I have a family member with autism and this doesn't make a person a crazy person or a bad person! They have a mental illness that is usually treated with medication to take the anger away. Did he get the help he really needed? We don't know! They are in the same category as a person with down syndrome! Don't act like they are a cold blooded murderer here! Look up the facts!

We need to stop letting the Psychologists and the Psychiatrists run the show and talking everything to death and start addressing the issues. It seems that all there was was a bunch of talk and no action in this case and now look at what resulted. This is the kind of practice that gets people in trouble.

Just An Observer wrote on Mar 16, 2009 9:37 PM:

The DA didn't do the job earlier. Some people attacked me for saying that but in their absolute ignorance they forget that a lawyer can justify both sides of an argument. Our DA could have been proactive and seen that the "bad seed" of a kid got stuck into a heavily supervised situation instead of being left to roam as a loose cannon. The DA took another tack and the result is a most gruesome murder.

Oh yes, I am most familiar with the insanity defense and how it can result in both a finding of not guilty as well as incarcerating the insane person. Remember what happened to the young man who tried to kill Reagan. He's still locked up. The same legal doctrine if used by our ineffective DA would have resulted in the earlier attack leading to incarceration.

poor linda nothing - did you see the depolrable conditions in which this child was being raised - autisum aside - this child (and he is a child) never had a chance!!!

Sister in law wrote on Mar 16, 2009 4:44 PM:

You need to rethink how you talk about Henry he is a good kids and he loved linda like a mother and could never have done this to her. You aveusly do not now the family and are judging on what you read in the paper. Look at your kids if you have any and think my kid could have done this to. Any one could have do this to any one else and you would have judged them like you are now

coos bay res wrote on Mar 16, 2009 3:09 PM:

Poor Linda no one should have to go out that way. I hope Henry gets locked up in a mental facility.
