OCCI second in state competition

Tuesday, March 03, 2009 |
Team OCCI competed in the State Junior ACF competition in Eugene at Lane Community College on Feb. 21.
They received a silver medal and placed second after a tremendous effort, according to OCCI Executive Director Shawn Hanlin.
“They did their school proud,” he said.
The team consisted of Krystle Grim, Richard Kite, Angeleena Sullivan, Kelsie Clarke, and John Lundahl.
Their second-place menu consisted of the classical Escoffier dish of sole paupiette a la trouvillaise, with shrimp and mussels, baby greens with potato cumin meringue, stuffed chicken breast with wild Oregon mushrooms, and finished off with a hazelnut and chocolate torte, semi-sweet chocolate sorbet and berry sauce.
Hanlin said he would like to thank the team’s sponsors: Day Ship Supply, the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commis-sion, and Hallmark Fisheries for their support.
