Bring a can of food, get a McMichael poster

Sunday, March 01, 2009 |
Award-winning marine artist Don McMichael and Books By The Bay are collaborating to help the community. Customers who bring in three cans or more to Books By The Bay will receive a free McMichael poster. The food gathered will be donated to the Emmanuel Episcopal Food Cupboard.
“I want to give back to the community that has given so much to me,” said McMichael said in a press release.
McMichael’s Blue Rhapsody poster is an underwater vision of whales in their realm. Eight humpback whales glide peacefully through a sea of blue.
Books By The Bay is at 1875 Sherman Ave., downtown North Bend. Posters are limited to one per customer per day, minimum of three cans of food per poster while supplies last. For more information, call 756-1215.
“This is our way of saying thank you to not only the Emmanuel Episcopal Food Cupboard for providing such a needed service in our community, but also to those who give from their hearts and bring in food.” said bookstore owner Trish Price. “We just feel so strongly that in these dark times, neighbors need to help each other out."
