Crash causes fire at business
Police arrested a Coos Bay woman early this morning after a U-Haul truck she was driving crashed into the Coos Bay U-Haul lot and caught fire.

Car fails to navigate corner near Langlois
At 2:55 a.m. Friday, a 1996 Chevrolet Corvette was traveling south on Highway 101 at Langlois when it drifted into the south shoulder. The driver steered left to get back on the highway, but overcorrected as the car went into a left-hand curve. The Corvette spun and crossed the north lane and a gravel driveway before coming to rest with its rear bumper embedded in dirt embankment.

Chase leads to arrest
Oregon State Police arrested a Coos Bay man Monday on after chasing him around Charleston.

Boy held following arrest
At about 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Reedsport Police Department officers received a report of a disturbance at 385 N. Fifth St. They arrested a 17-year-old boy on charges of first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. A dispatcher said the report on the case hadn’t been completed and he wasn’t sure who police consider the victim in the case. The teen was taken to the Douglas County Juvenile Detention and Shelter Care. A spokesman said he remained in custody this morning.

Florence man arrested following bar fight
Police officers arrested a Florence man Friday after a report of a fight at a bar.

Thefts and mischief

Highway crash injures three
Three people were hurt Saturday in a two-car crash on U.S. Highway 101 near Gardiner.

Brookings man held following arrest on drug and theft charges
Police officers arrested Bobby D. Landers, 18, of Brookings on Friday on charges of second-degree theft, possession of methamphetamine, second-degree identity theft and second-degree forgery.
