Historical society presents St. Patrick's Day event

The Coos County Historical Society invites people to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday, March 17, at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Coos Bay.
The event will highlight the grand traditions from Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales .
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the program beginning at 6.
Entertainment will include Lee Littlefield Playing the Mighty Wurlitzer, the Kilted Bagpipers and Coos County Pub Band, along with favorite songs to be sung. There also will be a wee bit of verse, a short tale be told and a look back at our past.
The movie “Waking Ned Devine” will play at 7:15 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. They are available at Oregon Pacific Bank, Farr’s Hardware and Oregon Wine Cellars in Coos Bay; the Coos Historical & Maritime Museum and Books by the Bay in North Bend; Java Jones in Empire; Farr’s in Coquille; and Gibson Graphics in Bandon.
The event is sponsored by Oregon Pacific Bank and is a fundraiser for the Coos County Historical Society, with concessions to benefit the Egyptian Theatre Preservation Association.
